About me

About 6 years ago I was working in a dead end job. I was stuck at a desk all day, never outside and never truly happy. I wasn’t heading anywhere, I was in a rut and most importantly I had no job satisfaction whatsoever.

The one thing that did give me a sense of worth was training, but I only ever did that out of office hours. Even the girls I worked with could see that my passion lay beyond the computer keyboard, so much so that they asked me to show them what all the fuss was about.

What started out as an introduction into the unknown for them turned into regular training sessions, twice a week. We’d clear out the boardroom and I’d teach them for an hour or so using resistance bands and basic stretching.  Pretty soon they started to see results and I started to find the satisfaction I was looking for. From that moment I knew that training others was what I wanted to do.  I wanted to help people feel good about themselves in an environment that was welcoming and warm, miles away from the fear and potential intimidation of a big gym and all its associated tedium and bravado.

I pursued my goal of qualifying as a personal trainer over the following months, handing in my resignation at the office and throwing myself head first back into school.  My courses resulted in a diploma in personal training, sports & Swedish massage therapy, circuit training, nutrition, pre and post-natal training as well as specific training programmes for those with asthma or diabetes. For the first time in my life I found myself top of the class reiterating that I had made the right choice.

Six years on my enthusiasm is greater than ever. I run spinning classes, group circuit training sessions, ladies marathon training as well as one on one bespoke training and nutrition programmes. The best part for me is having someone tell me how fit, healthy and happy THEY feel. Being part of someone attaining their own personal goals, whether it is training for a marathon, losing a few extra pounds or just getting some time to themselves after having a baby, the sense of achievement is indescribable.

If it’s looked after properly your body can become a powerhouse of happiness.  Everyone has the right to feel good about themselves, whether you’ve never exercised before or whether you just need a helping hand with scheduling your training more efficiently.

It’s something I’ve learnt myself and it’s something I’m passionate about sharing with you…

…the human body is an incredible thing.
